Livonia Education Centers
A superior education system produces a skilled workforce. Livonia’s students benefit from two quality public school systems, Livonia Public Schools (LPS) and the Clarenceville School District, as well as numerous parochial schools, the Niji-Iro Japanese Immersion Elementary School, and the Livonia Career Technical Center. The LPS has 100% Highly Qualified Teachers and AdvancED District Accredited at the Highest Level. The City is home to four institutions of higher education, including the main campuses of Madonna University and Schoolcraft Community College. In addition, Wayne State University offers the Confucius Institute at Schoolcraft College.
Livonia was recognized by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) as the Second Safest City in Michigan (populations over 75,000). Over the years, Livonia has earned other accolades. It has been named as the Second Best Kid Friendly Place in the Nation by Population Connection, the Second Least Economic Stressful by the City American City Business Journals, and one of the top 50 Green Cities in the United States by Popular Science in 2008.
