Planning Commission
The City Planning Commission is vested with all the authority, powers and duties given to such commission by the provisions of said Act 285 of 1931, as amended, and the ordinances of the city, including the zoning ordinance.

Plymouth Road Development Authority
In its early history, Plymouth Road supported an airport and many of the first businesses that claimed Livonia as their home base. Due to the conditions that existed at that time, businesses were placed in a variety of setbacks from the road and each had its own driveway and unique parking.

Traffic Commission
The Traffic Commission has the authority, within the limits of the funds at its disposal, to coordinate traffic activities, to carry on educational activities in traffic matters, to supervise the preparation and publication of traffic reports, to receive complaints having to do with traffic matters, and to recommend to the legislative body of this city and to the chief of police, the city traffic engineer, the chief of the traffic division and other city officials, ways and means for improving traffic conditions and the administration and enforcement of traffic regulations.

Livonia's Commission on Children and Youth exists to identify needs of our city's youth. Its mission is to respond to those needs by promoting academic leadership, citizenship, and community involvement through recognition, events, or programs, which enhance quality of life for present and future generations of our community.

Zoning Board of Appeals
The Zoning Board of Appeals is a seven-member Board created by State statute. The Board hears appeals from residential and business property owners when they are unable to comply with ordinance requirements and are rejected permits by the Engineering and Inspection Departments.
