Mission

The Zoning Board of Appeals hears and decides appeals where it is alleged by the applicant that there is an error in any order, requirement, permit, decision, or refusal made by the building official or any other administrative official in enforcing the provisions of the zoning ordinance.  Variances may be granted by the board where existing conditions or factors would result due to strict application of the ordinance such as exceptional practical difficulties and exceptional or undue hardships, where relief can be provided without detriment to the public good and without substantially impairing the intent and purpose of the zoning ordinance.
