Artifacts Art Club

The Artifacts Art Club was established in 1986. The club is comprised of artists working at all levels from beginners to professionals. The club's purpose is to provide an atmosphere of camaraderie, peer support and artistic education.

Club activities include:

  • Demonstrations
  • Member expertise exchanges
  • Professional critiques
  • Specialized speakers

Informal excursions to galleries and art exhibits are always an option. Artifacts Art Club meetings are held the second Tuesday of each month at 7:30 p.m. in the Robert and Janet Bennett Civic Center Library. Annual membership dues are $20. Livonia Camera Club

The Livonia Camera Club is a group of photography enthusiasts dedicated to promotion of photography through displays, competitions, critiques and education. The group meets at 8 p.m. on the first two Thursdays of the month, September through May, in Room 107/108 at:

All are invited to come by to one of our meetings and learn more! Membership dues are $30 a year for individuals and $40 for families. Dues are payable either by cash or check to the club treasurer. The club does not have the ability to accept credit card payment.

The Livonia Camera Club is also a member of the Greater Detroit Camera Club Council.

first Thursday Meeting Format

The first Thursday features digital projection competitions:

  • Assignment
  • Color Creative
  • Nature
  • Open

Each image is judged by a panel and is awarded points for content, composition and technical accomplishment. In addition, there is a critique to point out to the photographer the strong points of the entry and also what might have been done to improve it.

second Thursday Meeting Format

The second Thursday of the month features print photographs. These prints compete in Open and Assignment categories and are divided into two print mediums, monochrome (black and white) and color. Judging and commentary are provided as in the digital competition.

On occasion at the second Thursday of the month meeting, there will be presentations on the various areas of photography. Please see the competition and meeting schedule that includes the presentations planned.
