Silent Cinema of the Mitten State Series- Holiday Matinee

Join us this December in the Newburg Church for the final installment in our series on Michiganders who shaped the silent movie world. We will be bringing you the amazing animation of John Randolph Bray, founder of the first animation studio and the creator of some astonishing classic cartoons, and two holiday shorts from film pioneer, inventor, and Michigander Thomas A. Edison, whose ingenuity helped create the film industry as we know it.

Night of Lights

Visit Greenmead under the glow of lights! Kids will enjoy a visit with Santa at the Meeting House and crafts at the School House. Stop in the church to listen to a free concert, shop at the Town Peddler Holiday Gift Shop in the Alexander Blue House, and warm up in the hospitality tent, where snacks and non-alcoholic drinks will be available for purchase. Night of Lights is presented by Masco.

Lunch with Santa

Come join us 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, at the Civic Park Senior Center for a photo with Santa, lunch, crafts and story time from Santa and Mrs. Claus. This annual event sells out quickly with families excited to dine with the big man. Pre-registration is required, as space is limited. Lunch will consist of pizza, salad, chips and a sweet treat.
