Newburgh Road Construction from Joy Road to Ann Arbor Trail begins August 15

The northbound lanes and center turn lane of Newburgh Road from Joy Road to Ann Arbor Trail will be closed to remove and replace areas of bad pavement.

The southbound lanes will be changed to two-way traffic to allow for both northbound and southbound traffic.

RIGHT TURNS ONLY WILL BE ALLOWED BETWEEN JOY ROAD AND ANN ARBOR TRAIL.  DO NOT ATTEMPT TO TURN LEFT THROUGH THE CONSTRUCTION ZONE.

Residents and business owners on the east side of Newburgh Road will need to cross the construction lanes using caution and will need to turn right only and head north to merge onto the northbound lanes of traffic.  Traffic pulling out cannot turn left and go south.

For work occurring directly in front of driveways, the resident/business will be notified prior to loss of access.  Please continue to place refuse, compost and recycling containers curbside as normal.

When the work on the northbound side has been completed the process will be reversed for work on the southbound lanes.

We appreciate your cooperation and patience in the construction area as the City of Livonia improves the road infrastructure for this segment of roadway.

It is anticipated that the entire project will be completed by Labor Day Weekend.

If you have any questions regarding this project, please call the Livonia Engineering Department at (734) 466-2571 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., except holidays and weekends.

Stark Road is being repaved from Schoolcraft north to Lyndon. During this project, Stark Road southbound will be closed to all traffic.
