Senior and disabled service is cancelled when ever Livonia Public Schools are closed due to snow or a snow emergency has been declared by the City of Livonia.



Program and Services

Livonia Community Transit (LCT) provides transportation service seniors (60 years old and over) and disabled residents of Livonia. Transportation is available to locations within the City of Livonia with limited service outside the city limits.  Livonia Transit gives people the ability to get to doctor appointments, shopping areas, physical therapy, salon appointments, employment and more.  Only residents of Livonia are eligible for service.  Livonia Transit cannot accommodate children younger than 18 years of age.

Livonia Community Transit is shared ride service and scheduling is arranged on a first-come, first-serve serve basis.  Reservations are requested in advance.

Livonia Community Transit also provides To Work service for passengers coming to Livonia from the SMART and Detroit Department of Transportation (D-DOT) bus systems.  Our To Work service takes riders to pre-selected locations only.  Riders are picked up from the SMART and D-DOT hubs in the morning and dropped off again for the return trip in the afternoon.  There is no mid-day service. Making Reservations

Scheduling is arranged on a first-come, first serve basis and reservations are necessary.  Reservations can be made by calling the Livonia Transit office at (734) 466-2700.  If you are using Livonia Transit for the first time, you will be asked your name, address, telephone number, date of birth and mobility status.

Existing customers have the choice of booking their trip online.  First time users of the online service will need to register and create an account with username and password.  When you book online, please be aware that your request has to be approved before the trip is scheduled. This option is not available to passengers booking transportation for the very first time - you will need to contact the Livonia Transit office first by calling 734-466-2700

Online Reservations

Transit Fares

Cost per ride is $2.00 each way.  Passengers must have exact fare or a bus ticket before boarding the bus.  Drivers do not carry cash so they cannot make change.  Individual tickets cost $2.00 and punch tickets, good for ten (10) rides, can be purchased for $20.00.  Tickets can be purchased from a driver or at the Transit office inside the Civic Park Senior Center (15218 Farmington Road). We can only accept CASH OR CHECK as payment.  Purchased tickets are not replaceable or refundable. 

The cost for D-DOT and SMART passengers is $2.00 each way.  D-DOT passengers can transfer to and from Livonia Community Transit with a purchased transfer.  LCT transfers cost .25 cents.  Transfers cannot be used with SMART.

SMART and D-DOT Pick-up/Drop-Off Times:
Pick-ups are available Monday through Friday 6:00, 7:00, and 8:00 a.m. and return drop-offs at 4:00, 5:00, and 6:00 p.m.
