The City of Livonia has an ongoing review program of residential and commercial properties in the City to verify the accuracy of data on our record cards by reviewing the exterior of each property. The canvasser doing the review will visit each property and, if possible, speak with the property owner. He/she will have photo identification and a city logo shirt.
In the City of Livonia, the Assessor’s department would like to remind you of the deadline for filing a Principal Residence Exemption (P.R.E/Homestead) Affidavit. If you own and occupy a home as your primary residence, it may be exempt from a portion of local school operating taxes.
File your P.R.E Affidavit--if you have not already--with our office by June 1 for the summer tax levy and all subsequent tax levies, or by November 1 for the winter tax levy and all subsequent tax levies.
