Inauguration Open House at the Jack E. Kirksey Recreation Center

Bring the family and join us in celebrating the inauguration of our Mayor-elect Maureen Miller Brosnan on Sunday, Dec. 15 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Kirksey Recreation Center, 15100 Hubbard Rd.
Guests will have an opportunity to meet our Mayor-elect and learn about Parks and Recreation offerings for the new year.
Enjoy a day of swimming, rock climbing, use of our fit hub, drop in sports and more!
*Livonia Residents FREE admission for the day!  Non-Resident fees are: youth (ages 4-13) $10, teens (ages 14-17)  $14, adults (ages 18-61) $17, seniors (ages 62+) $10. (*Must show proof of residency at time of entry.)

Have a ball in 2020! Get your team together for Winter Basketball Leagues at the Kirksey Recreation Center. Registration ends Dec. 18, with leagues beginning in January. Winter Leagues 5v5 Tuesday-Men’s Class B; Wednesday-Men’s Class A; Thursday-Men’s Class C Men's and Women's 3v3-Sunday.

Learn to Draw Cartoons

You can learn to draw cartoons even if you're a beginner. Neal Levin's Cartooning Workshop will take place Monday, Dec. 16 from 5 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. The class, open to all grades will teach you how through simple instruction and games. You'll even learn how to make up your own!  
The registration fee includes all materials and a free booklet to take home.
This class has been revised since last session. If you have registered before, you'll learn to draw new characters and receive an updated booklet.

Healthy Livonia's 100 Days to Health 

Healthy Livonia’s 100 Days to Health begins at 9 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 5 at the Kirksey Recreation Center, 15100 Hubbard. The kick-off event will feature keynote speakers, raffle prizes, refreshments and a free workout.
The community wide event, which benefits the entire family for the first 100 days of 2020, is presented by Mercy Elite and sponsored in part by Dick’s Sporting Goods, Running Fit, Energetic Wellness Coaching, Lemongrass Spa and Time to Savor.
The program offers the opportunity to participate in a range of activities including exercise classes for all ages, nutrition and wellness seminars, rock climbing, free Friday workouts, open swim and more. Additionally, adults can take part in the 100 Day Weight Loss Fitness Challenge. Register for the Challenge and be eligible for monthly prizes.
