Become a Lifeguard

Participants will learn the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize and respond to aquatic emergencies and to provide care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries and sudden illnesses until EMS personnel take over.
The Blended Lifeguard course requires completion of an online portion before the first day of class. Class dates are Wednesday, Nov. 27 Friday, Nov. 29-Sunday, Dec. 1 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. or Thursday, Dec. 26-Saturday, Dec. 28 from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Participants must be able to provide an email for access to the online learning, be able to attend each day of class, and pass a prerequisite swim test on the first day.
Join the Livonia Parks & Recreation Lifeguard team and receive a $100 class reimbursement after 150 hours worked. Only $175. Register today.

Register for Winter Basketball

Have a ball in 2020! Get your team together for Winter Basketball Leagues at the Kirksey Recreation Center. Registration ends Dec. 13, with leagues beginning in January. Winter Leagues 5v5 Tuesday-Men’s Class B; Wednesday-Men’s Class A; Thursday-Men’s Class C Men's and Women's 3v3-Sunday.

Learn to Draw Cartoons

You can learn to draw cartoons even if you're a beginner. Neal Levin's Cartooning Workshop will take place Monday, Dec. 16 from 5 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. The class, open to all grades will teach you how through simple instruction and games. You'll even learn how to make up your own!
The registration fee includes all materials and a free booklet to take home.
This class has been revised since last session. If you have registered before, you'll learn to draw new characters and receive an updated booklet.
