Compton Park Receives New Pickleball Courts

The City of Livonia will celebrate the Grand Opening of the Compton Park Pickleball Courts, Lyndon east of Middle Belt, with a tournament at 8:30 a.m. followed by a ribbon-cutting at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 7. 
Registration is open for the doubles tournament. The $10 fee includes a t-shirt.
The Compton Park pickleball courts are the first designated pickleball courts in the City of Livonia.  This park improvement was made possible in part through the Livonia Housing Commission through the Community Development Block Grant.

Leisure Pool

Leisure Pool Grand Re-Opening!

The Kirksey Recreation Center leisure pool will celebrate its grand re-opening at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 10.  The renovations included new interactive water features, including  a play structure that allows youth to make discoveries and engage in immersive play. The play structure has 2 slides, blasters, dumping buckets, spinners and bobble nozzles. Inquisitive swimmers who like to explore the different ways water moves, will enjoy the water ways feature.
Additionally, the pool received new decking and gutters and pool surface. The 250 ft. water slide and slide tower also received preventative maintenance.
