Leisure Pool Grand Re-Opening!

The Kirksey Recreation Center leisure pool will celebrate its Grand Re-Opening at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 10. The renovations included new interactive water features, including a play structure that allows youth to make discoveries and engage in immersive play. The play structure has 2 slides, blasters, dumping buckets, spinners and bobble nozzles. Inquisitive swimmers who like to explore the different ways water moves, will enjoy the water ways feature.
Additionally, the pool received new decking and gutters and pool surface. The 250 ft. water slide and slide tower also received preventative maintenance.

Dive-In Movie Night - JAWS

Get your family and friends together for Dive-In Movie Night, featuring Jaws, on Saturday, Sept. 21 at the Kirksey Recreation Center. Ditch the stuffy living room and relax in an inflatable raft in our Lap Pool while we show Jaws on our full color LED scoreboard. Ages 11 and over, please.
Check-in begins at 5 p.m. and the movie starts at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are $5 per person for a Wet Ticket (swimming) and $4 per person for a Dry Ticket (non-swimming). There are a limited quantity of rafts available for rent for $1 each. Ticket price increases $1 day of event.

Fall Park Clean-Up

The Livonia Parks and Recreation Department is hosting a Fall Park Clean-Up Saturday, September 21 beginning at 9 a.m. This special day is designed to spruce up neighborhood parks with the assistance of organizations, families and school groups.
Individual groups choose a park and recruit volunteers to clean that park. Each group will be given trash bags, gloves and encouraged to bring rakes and brooms. After the clean-up, all volunteers are invited to Rotary Park, Six Mile at Hubbard, for a picnic hosted by the Parks and Recreation Department and the Livonia Rotary Club.
