Merry & Bright Parade

Join us for the annual Merry & Bright Parade at 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 7, between Frost Middle School and City Hall! The Tree Lighting Ceremony will follow immediately after Santa and Mrs. Claus arrive at City Hall. No registration is required to attend. This event is subject to weather conditions. There will be traffic interruptions during and before the parade in the surrounding area.

Festive Forest

Want to get your name out for free while contributing to your city's holiday spirit?

Calling local organizations, businesses, and families! Space is limited on this fun contest, and registration closes tomorrow, Nov. 26!

Be part of the Festive Forest Dec. 1-29 by decorating your own outdoor tree for Greenmead's Night of Lights! Participants are responsible for providing their own tree and shatterproof decorations. We’ll supply extension cords and will handle plugging in all trees once setup is complete. Please do not plug in your own tree.

The public will vote for their favorite, and one lucky tree will be crowned the winner!

Registration is free through our online portal.

City of Livonia Thanksgiving Holiday Hours

City of Livonia offices, 16th District Court, Livonia Public Library, Greenmead Historical Park and the Livonia Senior Wellness Center will be closed Thursday-Friday, Nov. 27-28, in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. The Kirksey Recreation Center will be open from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 27, and they'll be open 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, Nov. 28.

Trash will be delayed one day for the rest of the holiday week following Thanksgiving. Please be sure to put your trash out on the DAY AFTER your regularly scheduled day. You can save the calendar event as a reminder.

The LSWC has been completed and is open for operation, but work on The Rec continues! Important updates regarding changes to the Kirksey Recreation Center will appear in eNewsletters and on our social media pages.
