Kirksey Recreation Center Closed May 30

We will be closing the Recreation Center on Friday, May 30, for the entire day. During this closure, many important construction items will be worked on. As such, we will be completely without power and unable to accommodate patrons. We thank you for your understanding as renovations and construction continue.

The Livonia Run 2 Save Our Youth packet pick-up will still happen at the Recreation Center May 30 noon-8 p.m.

Greenmead Flea Market

Bring your wagon or cart and shop from more than 160 vendors at the Greenmead Summer Flea Market on Sunday, June 1, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is $3 for ages 12+, children 11 and younger get in for free. Free parking is available in the Special Events Parking Lot located on Newburgh Road, and additional parking lots are located off Victor Parkway near the Farm Complex. No dogs are permitted at this event.

This event has no more vendor spaces available, so watch out for online scams!

Let's Roll Livonia Reminders

This is a quick reminder that Priority Waste is only collecting trash and recycling from the new carts, and drivers will not collect the material if the new carts are not utilized first. Ordinance officers may ticket offenders who are using the wrong carts or leaving individual bags at the curb when carts are not used and full.

We also remind residents to have the cart wheels backed up against the curb or lawn and to keep the two carts at least three feet apart.

The leisure pool at The Rec will be closed July 4 to mid-August for pool deck renovations and water slide maintenance.

As the exterior walls for both the new Livonia Senior Wellness Center and new West Gym stand tall, construction crews are working on some interior elements. New roofs and doorways have been appearing, and the indoor track reopened last week. New interior renderings are available at Livonia.gov/1899.

The Main Gyms will close in 2025 once the new West Gym is complete. The full project is expected to be completed in December 2025. You can visit LivoniaBuilt.org to see the specific timeline for each phase. For more details, check out our Frequently Asked Questions.
