Rec Center Readers Book Club

Grab your library cards, Livonia! 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, May 29, we are having our next session of Rec Center Readers Book Club! For May, we are reading "The Fury" by Alex Michaelides. This event is free for Rec Center members, $3 for non-member residents, and $5 for non-member non-residents. This event will be held at the Jack Kirksey Recreation Center. Run 2 Save Our Youth 5k

It's time to lace up for a cause. Join us Saturday, June 1, 9-11 a.m. at Livonia City Hall as we run to support the programs the Livonia Save Our Youth Coalition provides to the community. Registrants ages 19-59 will pay $25, while those ages 0-18 and 60+ will pay $20. The race will be chip-timed, and all participants will receive a medal. Visa gift card prizes are available for winners of each age group. Sign up online and secure your spot.

S'mores and Stories: Fabulous Fireflies

Cozy up with our monthly S'mores and Stories program 7 p.m. Friday, June 14, at Greenmead Historical Park! We will roast s'mores, tell stories, and enjoy various activities around the campfire. This month's theme is Fabulous Fireflies. This program is best for children ages 5-12, and all children must be accompanied by an adult (parents do not need to register). Advance registration is required through our online catalog, and registration costs $5 per child.

Construction begins July 2024 with exterior site work, closing the East FitHub (Strength Hub) in September 2024 and closing the Main Gyms in July 2025 once the new West Gym is complete. The full project is expected to be completed in December 2025.
