Night of Lights Adds Town Peddler Holiday Shop to Eight-Day Lineup at Greenmead Historical ParkNight of Lights, presented by Masco Corp., is back at Greenmead Historical Park with more lights, more activities and more community fun! Formal activities for this regional holiday attraction will take place 5-8 p.m. Friday-Sunday (excluding Dec. 4) the first three weekends in December, with the lights on display all month long for this self-guided walking event.
Join us Dec. 2-3, 9-11 and 16-18 for:
- Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus Visits at the Friends Meeting House
- Arts and Crafts at Newburg Schoolhouse
- Music in Newburg Church
- Town Peddler Holiday Shop inside Alexander Blue House (NEW!)

There is a $10 suggested donation per vehicle upon entry for weekend activities (cash only, no advance tickets).

Merry & Bright Holiday Parade Hits the Streets this Sunday, Dec. 4Join a few thousand community members 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, for the Merry & Bright Holiday Parade and Tree Lighting. The parade route runs from Frost Middle School to Livonia City Hall, where our guests of honor from the North Pole will help Mayor Maureen Miller Brosnan with the annual tree lighting from the southern steps of City Hall. Once the lights are on, head over to the Bennett Civic Center Library to visit with Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus, do some crafts and hear some music.
Northbound Stark Road, between Schoolcraft and Lyndon, will be closed from 2:45-5 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 4, in preparation for and during the parade.
The following roads will be closed from 3:45-5 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 4: - Stark Road between Schoolcraft Road and Lyndon Street
- Perth Street between Stark and Farmington Roads
- Lyndon Street between Stark and Farmington Roads

Inaugural Otaku U Anime Convention Comes to Schoolcraft College Dec. 3Schoolcraft College’s Otaku Anime Club is inviting the public to an all-ages anime convention called Otaku U! Stop by Schoolcraft’s VisTaTech Center on the northwest part of campus (18600 Haggerty Road) from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, to check out the vendor hall, anime screening, cosplay contest, panels, manga library, gaming tournament, Pokémon trivia, evening karaoke, voice actor Tyson Rinehart (200 credits from the “Steins;Gate” series to video games for Dragonball Z, Final Fantasy and more!), and musical guests Guitar Bros and Playing with Power.
