Greenmead Knope Award Runner-up!

Greenmead Historical Park outlasted 58 different parks and finished as runner-up for the national Knope Award! This award recognizes the Best Historical and Cultural Places in Local Government through Engaging Local Government Leaders (ELGL).

Thanks to all who voted as part of our #VoteGreenmead campaign over the past month! We were the only Michigan location to advance from a pool of 60 parks into the 32-park playoff bracket and daily Internet votes led us to the championship finale against Chautauqua Park in Boulder, Colorado.

Free Fitness Class Demonstrations Prepare You for Spring Session

Registration for spring classes opened yesterday, April 11, and three new group fitness classes are available. Try them out for free before you register for a full session. No membership or registration is required to test them out. Trial demonstration class dates are as follows:

Meditative Yoga: 10 a.m. April 18 and 25
Challenge Fitness: 7 p.m. April 20 and 27
Shine Fitness: 7 p.m. April 21 and 28

Create Your Own Kentucky Derby Headware at Greenmead

Head over to Greenmead Historical Park's Friends Meeting House 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 30, for a fun morning of fascinator headband making for the Kentucky Derby.

Geared for ages 12 and older, this headband-making class will include all needed materials. Advanced registration required.
