The Rec Now Accepting Peerfit

The Kirksey Recreation Center is now accepting Peerfit memberships! Peerfit is all ages based on employer insurance (HAP, Wellcare, Alignment), with the Peerfit Move branch of it being senior-focused via Medicare.

To verify eligibility, register for Peerfit, and receive your confirmation email and number to bring with you to The Rec, visit the Peerfit.com hyperlinks. Once confirmed, you'll receive a Kirksey Recreation Center matinee membership at no cost to you!

'Romeo and Juliet' Shakespeare in the Park Auditions This Weekend

In case you missed it, the auditions for the Shakespeare in the Park production of “Romeo and Juliet” are this weekend! Ages 14 and older are encouraged to come audition for this tale of true love at the Kirksey Recreation Center later this week. Drop-in audition times from Feb. 18-20 are 6-9 p.m. Friday, noon-4 p.m. Saturday and noon-2 p.m. Sunday. Please be prepared with a Shakespeare monologue of your choosing.

Callbacks will be noon-2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 27, and the performances will be Friday-Sunday, July 29-31. We're also seeking production assistance. Anyone interested or with questions on the production should email edavis@livonia.gov.

Stretch Out in Your Workspace

Join certified personal trainer and wellcoach Nadene White for a pair of 60-minute workshops focusing on Movement and Stretching in Your Workspace (home offices included!). She’ll teach you exercises you can do from a chair or with limited space as time permits throughout your day.
