FREE Ice Rink, Games and Activities Available to Keep You Moving
The outdoor ice rink at Greenmead Historical Park opened for the season last week and is ready for fun times. Bring your own skates and dress for the weather at this FREE activity daily from dawn until dusk. With the forecast of warmer weather today and tons of snow the next two days, the rink will be temporarily closed Tuesday-Thursday this week. Once things are cleaned up for the weekend, avoid skating if warmer than 32 degrees.
If the weather has you wanting to stay indoors, we have a variety of newer items available at the Kirksey Recreation Center. Our open play time for ages 5 and younger started in the fall and has become a hit as kids explore a variety of games and toys we have available from 9-11 a.m. every Tuesday in the MAC Gym.
We also have virtual fun to help get you moving with our kid-focused BEAM projection games and our hundreds of adult-focused Studio SWEAT onDemand group fitness class recordings. Both take place in The Rec's Activity Room on a drop-in basis when other programs are not taking place.
We have a new open gym schedule that offers up two new pickleball time slots for all skill levels, as well as drop-in floor hockey availability.
All of these activities are FREE to the public regardless of residency status. The Kirksey Recreation Center activities require a membership or day pass.
