Five-Year Master Plan Public Input Meeting Tomorrow Night

We want to hear from you 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 26, as we take in public input for the five-year Livonia Parks and Recreation Master Plan for 2022-26.

We received thousands of great survey responses in February, but want to provide a more vocal avenue for those who live in the community, participate in our programs, or have used our parks or facilities. It'll help us evaluate what we currently have and then create actionable goals for improving our park system and recreation programs over the next several years.

Summer Hours, Tree Fort and Day Passes Begin June 1!

On June 1, the Kirksey Recreation Center will resume summer hours. Summer hours are 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. Mondays-Fridays, 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays and 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sundays.

The Tree Fort at the Kirksey Recreation Center will reopen for limited hours starting June 2. Tree Fort hours will be 9 a.m. to noon Mondays/Wednesdays/Saturdays and 4-7 p.m. Mondays/Wednesdays.

Additionally, day passes and 10-visit passes for the Kirksey Recreation Center will be accepted starting June 1.

Run 2 Save Our Youth June 12

The Run 2 Save Our Youth is back! Taking place from 8-10 a.m. June 12 at City Hall, the 5k Run and Untimed Walk will be this year’s centerpieces. Due to the pandemic, the Kids’ Fun Run, bounce house, music, kid-friendly activities, food, music and sponsor tent will return next year. Come help the Livonia Police Department and Livonia Save Our Youth Coalition raise funds to help save our youth.

Registration is $25 per person by June 6 ($35 June 7-11), but there are discounts for youth, seniors and sponsors. Racers will receive shirts and 5k participants will receive medals. For details, check out the Coalition's website or register at RunSigunup.com.
