Adult Coed Sand Volleyball League Deadline Tomorrow

You’ve heard about our adult sand volleyball league over the past month or two, but now is the time to sign up. The deadline is tomorrow, May 19, for both our 4v4 and 6v6 outdoor coed league options, with matches beginning the week of June 1 at Bicentennial or Stymelski Parks.

Cost is $170 and $200 per team, respectively; but we also have free agent lists if you’re looking to join a team. Sign up ASAP to get in on the action.

Explore your creative side this summer and participate in a “Joy of Painting the Bob Ross Way” workshop. Following a sold-out event this coming Sunday, we’ve got two more single-day three-hour workshops coming 6 p.m. Friday, June 11, and 9 a.m. Sunday, June 20; plus more coming in July and August. Sign up and recreate some great landscape images before these sell out, too!

LivoniaFit Challenge Coming Aug. 7

Save the date for the NEW LivoniaFit Challenge 8 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 7, at the Kirksey Recreation Center's south parking lot. Challenge yourself mentally and physically with a unique outdoor event patterned off the Army Combat Fitness Test (ACFT). Lift the heaviest, throw the furthest, complete as many reps as possible and move the fastest.

Heats will begin every 20 minutes starting at 8 a.m., with challengers completing the deadlift, power throw, hand-release push ups, sprint-drag-carry, TRX pull up and a two-mile run. More details and video demonstrations can be viewed here.

The $40 entry fee includes the event, T-shirt (if registered by July 12) and refreshments at the event. Register by July 26 to participate.
