Staff Earns mParks New Pro Award!
Livonia Parks’ own William “Billy” Keppen received the New Professional Award from mParks (Michigan Recreation and Park Association) during their statewide annual (virtual) conference last week.
Billy is a program supervisor who has been overseeing our camps, special events and more since August 2017. In addition to growing existing programs, he debuted new events like the Easter Bunny Climb special event on the rock wall, a Therapeutic Recreation program called Livonia AIR, a Mother/Son Dance and May the 4th Be With You; where children practiced their Jedi skills with live action figures and watched a Star Wars movie. He’s active on several statewide planning and networking committees through mParks, as well.
Billy's individual award joins two department-wide awards (Innovative Program; COVID-19 Engagement) Livonia Parks and Recreation was recognized for. Visit https://www.mparks.org/page/AwardWinners for a full list of award recipients. Congrats to all the winners!
