Playground Program and Camp Swoosh Update

In May, it was announced that both Camp Swoosh and Playground Program were canceled for the summer. With changing orders from the governor, the decision has been made to offer modified versions of each program. Due to recommendations and guidelines from the CDC, Wayne County Public Health, and the State of Michigan we have had to implement a number of changes to each program in order to keep staff and participants safe.
 
Playground Program – Starting on June 29
Playground Program has been divided into two different sites – Blue and Green. Each one has their own schedule and you are required to register for one program or the other. Please communicate with family and friends to make sure you are registering for the same program.
 
Registration will begin online only on Monday, June 15 for Livonia Residents. We moved to a new software a few months ago so please check that you have access to your account. If you are a Kirksey Recreation Center member, you will already have an account. If not, you may have to create a new account. Registration will open on June 22 for Non-Residents.
 
Camp Swoosh – Starting on July 6
Camp Swoosh at the Kirksey Recreation Center will run this year at a reduced capacity of 20 campers per week according to the state of Michigan guidelines. Registration will open online on the following schedule:
 
Monday, June 22 – Kirksey Recreation Center Annual Members**
Tuesday, June 23 – Livonia Residents
Thursday, June 25 – Non-Residents
 
**Annual memberships can only be purchased in-person at the Kirksey Recreation Center. If an annual membership is purchased after you have registered for camp we will retroactively apply the discount for camp.
