Health Dept. Closes Public Pools

It was our hope to open pools for the summer. Unfortunately, with the issuance of Order #20-03 by the Wayne County Public Health Department, we are prohibited. In a joint release, Wayne, Oakland and Macomb Counties ordered all public pools closed indefinitely to safeguard from the spread of coronavirus." Although pool water poses a low risk of transmitting COVID-19, it is difficult to maintain social distance in and around pools, as well as in the associated facilities- enclosures, deck areas and sanitary facilities." 
This includes Livonia's three outdoor pool facilities and the pools and Splash Pad at the Kirksey Recreation Center. The Department of Parks and Recreation would like to remind residents to be safe this summer while using backyard pools and beaches.
