With the ongoing COVID-19 concerns, we STRONGLY recommend that tax payments be made by check and placed in the 24-hour drive-up red drop box located on the east side of City Hall on the half-circle drive curb sidewalk. Please address the envelope: Attn: Treasurer’s Department. If paying in person, City guidelines and procedures for entry into City Hall will need to be followed. The days and hours that City Hall/Treasurer’s office is open may fluctuate. City offices will be closed on Monday, July 5 and Monday, Sept. 6.
INSTRUCTIONS TO ACCESS TAX INFORMATION VIA WEBSITE AT LIVONIATAX.ORG:
Scroll down to "ONLINE PROPERTY INQUIRY SYSTEM" and click on "I AGREE, PROCEED TO THE ONLINE PROPERTY INQUIRY SYSTEM." BS&A Online will open and default in the search "By Address" field. Enter the property address you’d like to search for and click the Search button. NOTE: If searching by address, enter the street name without the words Road, Street, Avenue, etc.
Click on the line with the address/information you are searching for. The selected line will turn blue. Once the property information loads, click on the TAX INFORMATION tab under the property picture. Scroll down and the taxes are listed by year and season. To see a detailed account of the bill, click on the triangle to the left of the tax year. This will open up an itemized tax bill. To print a copy for your records, scroll down to the bottom of the Tax Bill Breakdown section and click on the link "Click here for a printer-friendly version of ’X’ tax information.
The Treasurer’s Department is responsible for the collection, disbursement, and custody of all revenues belonging to and held in trust by the City. All funds collected by City agencies are transmitted to the Treasurer where they are verified, deposited and entered into the City’s financial records. Based on direction from the Finance Director, the Treasurer’s Department transmits instructions to various financial institutions for the daily investment of City funds to maximize the interest on its holdings.
Based on information provided by the City Assessor, the Treasurer issues the real and personal property tax bills to the property and business owners in the City of Livonia on July 1 and Dec. 1. The Treasurer collects the property taxes and distributes them to:
- City of Livonia
- Clarenceville Public Schools
- Livonia Public Schools
- Schoolcraft College
- State of Michigan (Education Tax)
- Wayne County
- Wayne County RESA
- Various other taxing entities
Delinquent real property taxes are turned over to the Wayne County Treasurer for collection. The City of Livonia Treasurer collects delinquent personal property taxes.
