Veterans' Affairs Ann Arbor Shuttle Service
Any veteran who is a patient of the Ann Arbor VA and has a scheduled appointment the day of their transportation can ride the shuttle. At the time of transportation, you must present photo identification such as a valid state driver's license or VA identification card to be transported. You will need a reservation and a scheduled appointment for services at the VA Medical Center in order to utilize this transportation service. Service is free-of-charge.
Livonia Community Transit is pleased to offer connecting service to Livonia residents to the Meijer location only.

Michigan State Housing Development Authority
The HUD VASH program combines HUD Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) rental assistance for homeless veterans with case management and clinical services provided by the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) at its medical centers and in the community. Ongoing VA case management, health, and other supportive services will be made available to homeless veterans at various VA Medical Center (VAMC) supportive services sites across the nation. City of Livonia Mental Health Counseling
The City of Livonia Housing Commission provides financial assistance to income-eligible Livonia residents to obtain professional mental health counseling services. For more information on the program, contact the Housing Commission's Community Development Office at (734) 421-6450, ext. 103
Livonia Emergency Assistance Program
The City of Livonia Housing Commission provides eligible low/moderate-income residents with utility (gas, electric, or fuel heating) shut-off assistance when a
SHUT-OFF notice has been received from the utility company. Call (734) 421-6450, ext. 105 for specific information.
Medical Equipment Loan Closet
The Civic Park Senior Center has a medical loan closet filled with wheelchairs, transfer/bath benches, canes, walkers, portable commodes and other durable medical aids. For Livonia residents only. A cash deposit is required and refunded upon the return of the item. Equipment can be kept for six months.
The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) is an entitlement program of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). CDBG funds are used primarily to benefit low and moderate-income households or areas as defined by the U.S. Census. The City of Livonia utilizes the CDBG funds in a variety of ways, including:
- Major Home Rehabilitation Loan
- Minor Home Repair Grant
- Public Services: Senior Van Transportation, Mental Health Counseling, First Step, And Emergency Utility Assistance
