For Information on In-Home Care, contact The Senior Alliance Information Services at 1-800-815-1112 or 734-722-2830, or by e-mail at: infor@tsalink.org. The Senior Alliance is a nonprofit agency designated as the Area Agency on Aging - AAA-1C - that assists older persons and their caregivers.
CHORE REFERRAL PROGRAM
The Chore Referral Program provides names of persons who have been interviewed, have furnished references, and have been put through a criminal background check. Chore Referral can be reached at 1-800-815-1112 or 734.722-2830. The fee for service is negotiated between the client and the chore provider.
SENIOR NUTRITION PROGRAMS
WAYNE COUNTY NUTRITION PROGRAMS
Wayne County Nutrition Services make available three basic nutrition programs to persons, age 60 and older.
Home-Delivered(Meals-on-Wheels): Hot meals are delivered by a volunteer on weekdays. A cold meal can be provided for the evening meal. Referrals can be made by a physician, visiting nurse, family member, friend, or the client. Referrals accepted at 1-800-851-1454 or 734-727-7357.
Congregate Meals: Hot lunch meal is available, Monday - Friday at three sites within the City. Donations are encouraged, suggested donation of $2.25 per meal. Meal reservations and cancellations must be made 24 hours in advance of the noon meal. Meals served at:

Liquid Nutrition: This nutrition program provides one to two liquid meals a day to those seniors who are experiencing difficulty swallowing solid food due to a debilitating disease or condition. A physician must complete the Wayne County Nutrition Services medical form indicating the person's need for liquid meals. The eligible client or representative must be responsible for picking up the liquid nutrition at a designated site. For program information, call 1-800-851-1454 or 734-727-7357
FOCUS HOPE distributes prepackaged food boxes monthly to income eligible senior residents. Referrals to this program accepted at 734-466-2538.
COMMODITY FOOD PROGRAM distributed U.S.D.A. surplus commodity food items monthly to income eligible senior residents. Referrals to this program accepted at 734-466-2538.
MiCAFE is a federal food assistance program that provides assistance to seniors, age 60/older applying for a bridge card. The bridge card helps seniors pay for their food. Referrals to this program accepted at 1-877-664-2233
SENIOR TRANSPORTATION
SENIOR CENTER BUS SERVICE
The senior center buses provide curb-to-curb service within the City limit, Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 4:00pm on a donation basis. Transportation is available to local shopping districts, grocery stores, medical appointments, and to the Senior Center. Reservations required 24 hours in advance. Reservations accepted at 734-466-2555 .
LIVONIA COMMUNITY TRANSIT
Livonia Community Transit buses will pick-up residents who are 60 years old and over and disabled persons from their homes and transport them with the City and up to one (1) mile outside of the City limits, for the rate of $2.00 per ride. Exact fare or ticket required. Lift equipped vehicle available. Service hours are Monday - Wednesday and Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.; Thursday 7:00 a.m. 8:30 p.m.: Saturday and Sunday, 8:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Advanced reservation required. Reservations accepted at 734-466-2700.
