Livonia named one of Top 100 Best Cities to Raise Kids in the U.S.
The City of Livonia has claimed another award, being named one of the Top 100 Best Cities to Raise Kids in the nation.
Livonia was one of just five cities in Michigan to make the Top 100 list, based on an evaluation of data measuring education, income, crime and health insurance.
The Best Cities to Raise Kids list was compiled by the National Council for Home Safety and Security.
The study examined graduation rates for those ages 18-24; median household income; violent crime statistics based on population; and number of insured children ages 6-17.
“We are proud of this latest honor,” said Mayor Dennis Wright. “It’s another feather in our cap and fits perfectly with our ‘Families First’ motto.”
Just last month, Livonia’s 48154 zip code was ranked as the Second Hottest Real Estate market in the nation for millennial home buyers by Realtor.com, based on offering affordable housing, strong job market and “it” factors such as hiking trails, great restaurants and proximity to vibrant nightlife.
In years past, Livonia has been recognized as the Second Best Kid Friendly Place in the Nation; Second Least Economically Stressful City; and 10th Happiest Mid-Sized City in the Country.
The National Council for Home Safety and Security is an organization of companies and individuals in the home safety and security industries, with a goal of furthering public knowledge about those topics.
