Information & Complaint Center
The Information and Complaint Center, staffed by volunteers, can assist you with inquiries regarding city services, special events, community resources, social services or clubs and organizations.  A packet of information on City Services is available to new residents at this center.  For further information, call (734) 466-2540.

Community Gardens
Garden plots at Greenmead Historical Park, Newburgh and Eight Mile Roads are available for rent. Plots are 24'x24'. Water is available. New Gardener Sign up will start on the first Tuesday of April  and continue until June in the Community Resources Office located at Livonia City Hall, on the fifth floor. Please come in between the hours of 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. and 3 - 5 p.m. to sign up. The cost is $25.00 (resident) or $35.00 (non-resident) per plot. Cash (exact change) or Check only. For further information, please call (734) 466-2542.

Social Services
Commodity Foods Distribution - TEFAP surplus commodity foods are distributed on a monthly basis to qualified low-income Livonia residents based on Total Household income and residency.

Residents who receive ADC, SSI, Food Stamps or Medicaid are automatically eligible. Those receiving all other sources of income must qualify based on federal income guidelines.

Focus: HOPE Food Distribution -
U.S.D.A. commodity foods in pre-packaged boxes are distributed on a monthly basis to qualified low-income Livonia senior residents (over 60 years of age) to sustain their health and independence.

City staff and volunteers assist seniors with food pickups or deliver boxes to those who are homebound.

Utility Shut-off Assistance
Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds are available to qualified low-income Livonia residents who have a current utility shut-off notice.

CDBG funding provides payment of gas, electric or fuel heating bills, up to a combined maximum of $500.00 on a one-time only basis.
